On October 9, 2024, the Ganzhou Branch of the Zhangye Public Security Bureau in Gansu Province addressed recent media reports concerning local traffic police towing vehicles that were parked legally. In response to these concerns, the police took immediate action and launched an investigation.

The inquiry revealed that a local resident named Liu had parked his vehicle in a designated public parking space outside the mobile service office on Xidajie Street at around 9 PM on September 12. This area is specifically intended for public services. However, on October 1 at approximately 11 AM, the traffic police received complaints from residents about Liu’s vehicle occupying the space for an extended period, which prompted them to tow the car.

The Ganzhou Branch has since reached out to Mr. Liu, who acknowledged and understood the circumstances surrounding the incident. Looking ahead, the Zhangye Public Security Bureau is dedicated to refining its procedures and improving the efficiency of its law enforcement and service capabilities, all while encouraging community members and netizens to keep a watchful eye on their efforts.
