On the evening of September 21, the Chinese Consulate in Laoag celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with a reception in Ilocos Norte.
The event drew an impressive crowd of over 300 attendees, including South Ilocos Governor Jerry Singson, North Ilocos Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta, Cagayan Vice Governor Jihann Vargas, along with various local dignitaries, members of the Chinese community, representatives from Chinese enterprises, and international students.
In his address, Consul Ren Faqiang reflected on the significant accomplishments of the Chinese people over the past 75 years under Communist Party leadership. He emphasized China’s current development and the positive results of friendly exchanges between China and the northern Luzon region.
Governor Singson, among other speakers, highlighted the enduring friendship between the Philippines and China, acknowledging China’s key milestones in development. Meanwhile, representatives from the overseas Chinese community conveyed their heartfelt wishes for the prosperity and growth of their homeland.
