On October 15th, during the “Innovation Leading to a Win-Win Future” conference dedicated to high-quality development and cooperation in Pudong, a series of collaborative projects between Shanghai and Hong Kong were officially launched. As reported by officials, the future promises even deeper partnerships between relevant research institutions, universities, organizations, and businesses from both regions, particularly in areas like trade, industry, technology, culture, and professional services.
One of the significant announcements at the conference was the establishment of the Pudong-Hong Kong “Silk Road E-Commerce” Service Alliance. This alliance aims to facilitate high-level international openness and promote the development of e-commerce along the Silk Road, engaging experts from various fields to provide comprehensive consulting, information services, country-specific guidance, and industry analysis for businesses looking to expand overseas.
To better support the entrepreneurial endeavors of youth from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese in Pudong, several new institutions were launched: the Pudong Youth Service Center for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan; the Pudong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base; and the Pudong Branch of the Pudong-Hong Kong Science and Technology Achievements Transformation Research Institute. These institutions are set to offer “one-stop” policy services to young entrepreneurs from these regions.
In an interview,梁传昕, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Biotechnology Association, highlighted that there is a strong synergy between the biotechnology industries of Hong Kong and Pudong. He believes that by combining the research strengths of Hong Kong’s universities with Pudong’s comprehensive ecosystem and supply chain in biomedicine, they can better support the incubation and growth of Hong Kong’s biotech companies.
Additionally, Li Yuling, a senior partner at Shanghai HanSheng Law Firm, expressed optimism about the potential for enhanced collaboration with Hong Kong law firms. She noted that this partnership could lead to the provision of “one-stop” cross-border legal services, significantly aiding Chinese enterprises in their international expansion efforts.
