On October 15, 2023, the integrated political education initiative for primary, secondary, and higher education officially launched in Yinchuan, Ningxia. During the event, the Yinchuan Education Bureau signed agreements with seven universities, including Ningxia University and Northern Minzu University, to establish a collaborative alliance focused on the comprehensive development of political education across all educational levels.
This two-day event featured four main themes: “Pomegranate Blossoms: Leading New Chapters in Political Education,” “Expert Guidance for Nurturing New Generations,” “Showcasing Exemplary Courses for Shared Innovation,” and “Following Footsteps: Learning and Understanding through Reflection.” Activities included a promotion conference, cultural performances, expert lectures, presentations of exemplary courses, and on-site teaching demonstrations. Together, these showcased the significant outcomes of Yinchuan’s integrated political education efforts.
In recent years, Yinchuan has prioritized the fundamental task of moral education, emphasizing the vital role of political courses. The city has systematically arranged initiatives across the curriculum, teaching staff, resources, and mechanisms. For four consecutive years, elementary and secondary students have participated in the “Bright Names”—their first lesson of the academic year. This has led to the development of 4,900 political courses, the recognition of 500 distinguished teachers, and the annual training of over 3,000 part-time and full-time political educators, marking substantial progress in integrated political education.
Additionally, the Yinchuan Education Bureau has established ten integrated political education studios this year to break down barriers across learning stages and regional resources. This initiative provides immersive, real-life experiences aimed at instilling a deep love for the nation, the Party, and socialism among young people.
At the event, 30 “Walking Political Courses” practical teaching bases and 217 “Pomegranate Seed Political Educators” were announced, along with ten lessons titled “Following the Path of Leaders to Appreciate the Power of Thought” and 20 exemplary political courses. These initiatives are designed to effectively reinforce the sense of a shared national identity among students and teachers alike.
A representative from the Yinchuan Education Bureau stated that by 2027, all middle and high schools will be staffed with dedicated political education teachers, and the ratio of such teachers in elementary schools will reach 70%. Furthermore, Yinchuan is committed to advancing the “Walking Political Courses” initiative, improving the collaborative educational mechanism among schools, families, and society, while continuously fostering new progress and achievements in political education.
