Recently, the New York Democratic Party kicked off the 2024 election season with a rally at Verdi Square in Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The event, organized by local Democratic leader Yuh Chuan, attracted over 30 members from Assembly District 65, all aimed at encouraging voter participation.
The rally was energetic and lively, hosted by Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, alongside Assemblymember Grace Lee from the Lower East Side and more than 20 other Democratic officials. Levine took a moment to express his gratitude to Yuh Chuan and to the dedication shown by Chinese-American party members who attended to support their local candidates.
Levine noted that while the Democratic Party is in a robust position in New York, reclaiming control of the House of Representatives hinges on winning back the six congressional districts within the city. He urged attendees to rally around this critical mission.
Several congressional and state elected officials also took the stage, sharing their insights and calling for unified support for the New York Democratic Party, highlighting the need for a resounding victory in the upcoming November elections.
Yuh Chuan from Assembly District 65 reinforced the importance of his office in assisting the Chinese community with voting in the general election. He announced that his office will provide voter services and registration daily, from 10 AM to 4 PM, at 88 East Broadway in Chinatown, open seven days a week.
