Multiple fleet vehicles are currently stationed at Fort Mason Waterfront Park, preparing for the annual Fleet Week event. The park will temporarily close its doors as preparations are underway for the air show and various related activities.

This year’s grand celebration, co-hosted by the U.S. Navy and the City of San Francisco, serves as an essential tribute to the military and an eagerly anticipated occasion for residents and tourists alike. During the event, San Francisco will attract thousands of spectators eager to witness the naval ship parade and thrilling air performances.

As the event date approaches, several locations throughout the city have begun their preparations for Fleet Week. Fort Mason stands out as one of the prime viewing spots for the naval displays.

To ensure the safety of the air shows and an enjoyable experience for viewers, Fort Mason has been temporarily closed since the 9th. This closure will allow for a series of facility upgrades and safety assessments, including the establishment of secure zones for the performing aircraft, seating arrangements for spectators, parking logistics, and testing of emergency evacuation plans. During this period, both residents and visitors will not be allowed access to the area. However, park management has assured that all preparations will be completed the day before Fleet Week, allowing Fort Mason to reopen to the public in time for the festivities.

A highlight of this year’s Fleet Week will be the Blue Angels, the Navy’s elite aerial demonstration team. Known for their incredible flying skills and breathtaking stunts, they attract thousands of spectators every year. This year, they will present a more complex and spectacular formation to celebrate Fleet Week, giving viewers at Fort Mason’s waterfront lawn a close-up experience of their high-speed dives, formation flying, and tactical maneuvers.
