Last month, the beloved voice actress of the original “Doraemon,” Noriko Ohara, passed away at the age of 90, according to NHK.

Ohara, who brought “Doraemon” to life for audiences in Japan, died due to aging on September 29 at a hospital in Tokyo. Her family has held a funeral in her honor.

She began voicing “Doraemon” in 1979 and continued for an impressive 26 years until 2005. In her later years, Ohara’s health declined significantly; she battled rectal cancer, suffered a stroke, and was diagnosed with dementia in 2015.
