On October 14, reports from the “Qingfeng Beijing” WeChat account revealed that the Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection has initiated a formal investigation into serious violations of discipline and laws by Ding Shuming, the former Party branch secretary and village committee director of Jianyuan Village in Dashiwo Town, Fangshan District.
The investigation uncovered that Ding, a member of the Communist Party, has lost his ideological convictions and shown a weak awareness of regulations and laws. He violated the spirit of the Party’s eight central regulations by improperly disbursing subsidies and using collective village land for profit-making activities. Additionally, he allegedly exploited his position to fraudulently obtain compensation for demolition projects and illegally embezzle collective village funds, resulting in significant financial misconduct.
Ding’s actions have constituted severe breaches of Party discipline, and he is suspected of crimes including embezzlement and the misappropriation of funds. Following a review by the standing committee of the Fangshan District Commission for Discipline Inspection, a decision was made to expel Ding from the Party, confiscate his illicit gains, and remit them to the national treasury. His suspected criminal activities have also been referred to the prosecutorial authorities for legal review and prosecution.
