The 15th Cross-Strait Cultural and Creative Industries Fair is set to take place from October 31 to November 3 in Xiamen, Fujian Province.

Industry leaders from Taiwan are eager to participate, with 32 associations, including the Taiwan Asia-Pacific Cultural and Creative Association and the Taiwan Lacquer Art Development Association, organizing exhibits. Over 90 creative brands and numerous master artisans will showcase their exquisite craftsmanship and artwork at the event. Additionally, more than 40 universities from both sides of the Strait will come together for the “Cross-Strait University Creative Design Exhibition,” providing a platform for young talents to display their skills and learn from one another.

This cultural fair is unique as the only national-level cultural exhibition co-hosted by both sides of the Strait, organized by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Radio and Television Administration, and the Fujian Provincial Government, with support from the Xiamen Municipal Government and the Taiwan Asia-Pacific Cultural and Creative Industries Association.

Lin Shouqin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, emphasized at a press conference on October 25 that the Cross-Strait Cultural and Creative Fair serves as an essential platform for cultural exchange and trade cooperation between the two sides. It not only offers cultural enterprises a stage to showcase their strengths but also enhances collaboration and development in the cultural industries.

This year’s fair introduces an innovative “2+3+N” exhibition model, featuring two comprehensive theme exhibition zones, including the “Cultural Industry Comprehensive Achievement Exhibition” and the “City Impression Theme Exhibition.” There will also be three specialized exhibition zones, including the “Cross-Strait Cultural and Creative IP Licensing Exhibition,” the “Cross-Strait University Creative Design Exhibition,” and the “Cross-Strait Arts and Crafts Exhibition,” all focusing on nurturing and developing new productive forces to empower high-quality cultural tourism economic growth.

Lin further stated that the fair will include a series of events, such as matchmaking sessions, signing ceremonies, interactive experiences, and lectures, with over ten sub-venues set up in various cultural industrial parks throughout Xiamen. This initiative aims to enhance cultural exchanges between both sides by inviting cultural tourism companies, intangible cultural heritage inheritors, master artisans, as well as young professionals and students.

In terms of exhibition content, the Cultural Industry Comprehensive Achievement Exhibition and the City Impression Theme Exhibition will highlight the achievements of cultural tourism development from both the Mainland and Taiwan, while also seeking new paths for integrated development. The exhibitions will showcase distinctive features and advantages of cultural industries from regions like Hebei, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Shanxi, Ningxia, Hong Kong, Macao, as well as Lhoka in Tibet and Ningbo in Zhejiang.

Notably, this year’s fair will innovate with the “Cross-Strait Cultural and Creative IP Licensing Exhibition,” which will gather numerous museum IPs from domestically recognized institutions along with resources from various industry brand partners. Twenty institutions, including the National Museum of China, the Henan Museum, the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China Memorial Site, the Beijing Grand Canal Museum, and the China Science and Technology Museum, have confirmed their participation, promoting cross-industry integration and innovation in the cultural and creative sectors.

Additionally, in collaboration with the Fujian Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the fair will launch the special exhibition “Intangible Cultural Heritage Goes Global – Entering the Osaka World Expo,” featuring representative intangible cultural heritage projects from Fujian Province.
