On October 16, reporters visited the newly unveiled bus-oriented TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) affordable rental housing project located on Jilong Second Street in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This marks the launch of Chengdu’s first public transportation TOD project, developed by Chengdu Public Transportation Group. The project adopts a model that combines “bus stations, community commerce, and affordable housing,” aimed at creating a smart transportation community that integrates “intelligent transport, diverse communities, and happy living.”
During the visit, journalists observed how the project seamlessly connects various community nodes such as transit networks, schools, and hospitals, forming an intelligent public transport system. The initiative is focused on building a future community that prioritizes convenience and accessibility for its residents.
The project has garnered interest not only for its innovative approach but also for its potential to enhance the quality of life in Chengdu by promoting both public transit and community development. Drones captured stunning aerial views of the site, showcasing the ambition and design of this pioneering project.
