During a recent event aimed at fostering the development of private healthcare in China, the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Private Medical Institutions organized an educational exchange in Tibet from October 20 to 25. This initiative was designed to enhance communication and collaboration among various private medical associations.
On October 23, the Jiangsu association invited a team of medical experts, including Li Xin, the deputy director of Mingji Hospital affiliated with Nanjing Medical University and a specialist in cardiovascular medicine, and Wang Ping, the deputy director and discipline inspection secretary of Nanjing Jiangbei Hospital, to provide free medical consultations at the Tibet Fukang Hospital. The team conducted surgeries for patients suffering from coronary heart disease.
One patient, Ms. Shu, visited the Fukang Hospital specifically to see the specialists after hearing about their presence. She wanted advice on her long-standing headache issues.
Wang Ping noted that through the consultation process, he observed a significant number of patients with gastrointestinal ulcers. He advised that as the seasons change from autumn to winter, the temperature differences in Tibet can be drastic. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a regular lifestyle and suggested a light diet, urging patients to avoid excessively fatty and spicy foods to prevent gastrointestinal issues.
Zhu Yongbiao, the head of the cardiovascular department at Tibet Fukang Hospital, expressed gratitude for the collaboration. He highlighted that the Jiangsu association’s specialists not only performed surgeries on four patients with severe coronary heart disease but also contributed to the overall enhancement of cardiovascular techniques at the hospital through this partnership.
Zhu Mingzhi, the vice president and secretary-general of the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Private Medical Institutions, announced that this visit concluded with the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with the Tibet Non-Public Medical Institutions Association. Furthermore, the expert team donated over 150,000 RMB worth of medications to the Lhasa Municipal Health Committee. This initiative aims to establish cross-regional cooperation and exchange of resources between Jiangsu and Tibet’s private healthcare sectors while fulfilling the social responsibilities of private medical institutions and learning from successful practices.
