As of now, there are a total of 4,450 registered social organizations at the municipal level in Beijing. This includes 2,096 social entities, 1,513 social service institutions, and 841 foundations. Notably, over 32% of these organizations are classified as 3A level or higher, indicating a significant shift in focus from mere growth and expansion to enhancements in capability and effectiveness.
On October 16, the fourth Beijing Social Organization Promotion event was held, themed “Joining Forces for High-Quality Development.” This event showcased the development of social organizations in Beijing, highlighted the achievements of municipal industry associations and chambers of commerce in contributing to high-quality development, and presented community service projects aimed at eldercare. During the event, representatives of newly rated 5A social organizations were awarded plaques, and a collective initiative titled “Joining Forces for High-Quality Development” was announced for all social organizations in the city.
Since the initiation of a special action by the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau in 2023, aimed at promoting high-quality development within municipal industry associations and the Zhongguancun community, these associations and organizations have actively embraced the call to leverage their strengths. They have focused on advancing high-quality development within their respective fields, achieving remarkable outcomes.
The municipal industry associations and Zhongguancun community have demonstrated their leadership by establishing a series of advanced standards that guide industry development, with over 180 organizations releasing more than 1,230 standards. They have also harnessed resource aggregation to build globally impactful industrial clusters, fostered talent development to support employment for over 40,000 individuals, and created high-end service platforms that attract global innovation resources.
Additionally, these associations and organizations have utilized expert think-tank capabilities to formulate high-quality policy recommendations, served as a bridge to ensure effective implementation of supportive policies, and spearheaded technological advancements to facilitate the transformation of scientific achievements, thereby promoting industrial structure upgrades. They have also released nearly 300 reports, including industry research white papers and economic operation analysis reports, providing accurate and actionable insights for economic development.
