Harry Kane has been given the green light to join the England squad for their upcoming matches despite a recent injury scare. However, Ezri Konsa, Kobbie Mainoo, and Morgan Gibbs-White are unavailable due to injuries, as reported by PA Media on October 7, 2024.

Kane, who recently wore the captain’s armband for Bayern Munich, left the field limping in the 72nd minute of their thrilling 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt after a collision with Brazilian defender Tuta. After the match, he rushed to St George’s Park for an assessment by FA doctors. Fortunately for England supporters, the 31-year-old striker is set to compete against Greece on Thursday and Finland on Sunday.

Bayern Munich issued a statement confirming that, “The examination by the England football team medical staff has shown that Harry Kane does not have a structural injury. The FC Bayern striker, who was substituted in the Bundesliga match at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening, will therefore remain with the England squad for the upcoming internationals.”

This recent injury scare is the second time Kane has faced potential setbacks lately. He nearly missed the match against Aston Villa due to an ankle niggle he picked up during a previous draw with Bayer Leverkusen. He joins Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke as the three center-forwards in the squad, with Solanke making his return to international play after a seven-year hiatus.

Interim head coach Lee Carsley has opted not to seek replacements following the confirmation that Konsa, Mainoo, and Gibbs-White will miss the Nations League fixtures due to injuries suffered over the weekend. The FA’s statement noted, “The trio all sustained injuries for their respective clubs over the weekend and have been ruled out of the Three Lions’ Uefa Nations League fixtures against Greece and Finland. All other 22 players are at St George’s Park with no further additions planned at this time.”

Konsa had last appeared for England in their 2-0 victory against Finland, while Mainoo played 77 minutes during Carsley’s debut match as head coach, a 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland. Manchester United provided an update on Mainoo, revealing that he has been “managing an issue” since being forced off due to injury in a match against Tottenham last month; however, he did participate in the subsequent draw against Aston Villa.
