On October 25th, officials from the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs shared an exciting update about the ongoing harvest in the region. As of October 24th, approximately 220 million acres of crops have been harvested, accounting for a remarkable 90% of the expected total yield.
In the Greater Khingan Range, known as the “Potato Capital,” multiple potato harvesters were busy at work on October 24th. Despite experiencing a dry summer, the weather has not adversely affected potato production this year. The manager of Da Xing An Ling Shufen Seed Co., Ltd. stated, “We planted 1,200 acres this season and anticipate a total yield of around 3,600 tons. The drought conditions have actually improved the quality of our potatoes.”
Overall, Heilongjiang Province has successfully harvested 21.57 million acres of grain crops. This includes 5.07 million acres of rice, 9.01 million acres of corn, 7.28 million acres of soybeans, 1.17 million acres of miscellaneous grains and beans, and 473,000 acres of potatoes. Additionally, economic crops and forage have been completely harvested from 5.2 million acres.
